PIE
Project in Internet Engineering
Objectives
- Consolidate the knowledge acquired in the curricular units of the course plan, namely Quality of Service on the Internet, Network Management and Applied Internet of Things
- Develop autonomy, responsibility and teamwork skills
- Specify a Computer Network system, integrating different technologies and protocols, from the point of view of the requirements of the services to be supported, the required quality of service and performance aspects
- Select the most appropriate network technologies and protocols
- Design a solution based on technical requirements, taking into account the economic, ethical and legal aspects of the technologies involved
- Build the designed system, implementing all necessary components and interfaces
- Implement monitoring and management mechanisms for the proposed system
- Develop oral and written communication and critical analysis skills
Program
Project development. The project must allow the consolidation of the knowledge acquired in the curricular units of the course plan, namely Quality of Service on the Internet, Network Management and Applied Internet of Things. This curricular unit, of a practical nature, aims to promote the development of analysis, synthesis and application skills of concepts and techniques, based on the resolution of concrete problems that include:
- Quality of service on Internet
- Management of heterogeneous networks, services and distributed applications
- Internet of Things
- Edge and fog computing
