Objectives
Preparing the dissertation implies the student’s enrollment on a research and development project of medium/large dimension. this enrollment will allow the student to:
- deepen the knowledge obtained during his Higher Education period;c
- Identify and delimitate the problem being tackled, as well as design a methodology to approch taht problem;
- develop competences to perform autonomous research in Computer Engineering and Sciences;
- develop autonomy, responsability and team work capabilities.
In the end the student must write and publically present a written document, promoting soft skills, such as synthesis and oral/written comunication
Program
The CU provides the context for a work that allows the development and demonstration of the learning outcomes mentioned above. The work should have the following characteristics:
- Identify and seek a solution for a problem in the area of Informatics;
- Involve the application of knowledge and advanced skills in the area of Informatics;
- Provide the deepening of knowledge and skills of the area;
- Have a clearly identificable component of individual work, without prejudice to the eventual integration in a work team, in a project, which can be academic or industrial.
Bibliography
Given the nature of this curricular unit, there is no reference book. The specific bibliography will depend on the student’s work. It must include articles and scientific journals in the research area.
